ABAP Beginner ...

Hi Experts,

Aspiring ABAPer here. Could any of you point me to some great tools and references that will help along the way of understanding the syntax and logic. I have a programming background in the standard OOP Languages (Java, C++), however I'm sure many of you know the syntax is completely different. Any help would be appreciated.
