IDOC <-> xml file

Hi all,

I need to send IDOC to an external system and also I want to receive an IDOC to SAP. Outbound IDOC should create a XML file as the external system can read XML. Also external system can create XML file. I have to read this XML file into IDOC.

Can you give me tips how to do this?
