difference between mvt 122 & mvt 161

is there any difference between mvt 122 and mvt 161,

both are to return the goods to vendor,

There is no major difference, but if noticed a little as follows:

Using movement type 122, you can distinguish real return deliveries for a purchase order or order from cancellations (102). In the standard version, you must enter a reason for the return delivery if you are using movement type 122. In this way, evaluations of return deliveries are possible.The effects of movement type 122 correspond to a cancellation of movement type 101.

161 Return for purchase order

If a purchase order item is marked as a returns item, the returns to vendor are posted using movement type 161 when the goods receipt for purchase order is posted. In this you no need reference purchase order.

I have one doubt please clarify,

we made a PO for 100 quntities and done GR and IV also,

now we have to return 30 quantities,

which mvt is used for this,

is it possible to make this with both mvts 122 and 161,

please guide in this senorio

Create return Po with return indicator ticked in Item overview and pass MIGO for same

Hi

Regarding your this doubt you can use the movement type 122 for returning 30 pcs.

Movement type 161 is used for returns to vendor.For example suppose we are procuring some printer catridges and we want to return the empty catridges.In this case while creating the PO you can add the empty catridges also in the PO and check the returns indicator aganist the empty cartidge in the PO.System will automatically consider movement type 161 for this.

Logicaly 122 and 161 has same effect i.e return of goods to vendor

161 Return for purchase order

Movement Type 161 is used when you make a returns purchase order to a vendor. This is a purchase order with the "returns" flag marked. By the way, 161 has it reversal mvt. type in 162
