setup time in scheduling

hi all ,

i have a query , regarding setup time in Routing .

here base qty is 10 EA

setup : 10 MIN

machine : 60 MIN

when scheduling 20 EA then system is calculating :

setup : 10 MIN

machine : 120 min . But i want for 20 min setup time, that i can do it in scheduling formula .

BUt if i want to schedule for 5 EA qty then what to do ?

i know setup time is independent of lot size.

Hi

If you want your set up time to be included only once during the lot. Your entry for no of setups to be 1.

If you want the no of set up time to be more than once. You should say the no of setups as per your requirement. In setup formula the no of setup is multipled. So this will give result accordingly.

You mean to say that the set-up time is related to the operation quantity. Then in such a case, your set-up formuala should be:

Operation Qty x Set-up time

Base Qty

So in your case for base operation 10 pc it requires 10 minutes of set-up time. Naturally, the formual will calcualate for 20 pieces as 20 minutes. This is what you required. So go the customizing and define the formual.

If u use lot size dependent formula the based on your routing parameters system will give you the value.Like,if for 10Ea it is 10 min. then for 5 Ea system will give u 5 min.Its is proportional.

Setup Time can be Independent or dependent of lot size depenting on what formula you have maintained,lotsize dependent or lot size independent and accordingly system will give you the result.
