dummy material on quotation

Hi,

I want to create quotation for 400-500 items. These all items will be transported from some excel sheet through BDC at quotation item level at material description field. There is no material master exists. Only one dummy material will be created and it will be used for all the items.

For the above scenario, will it work & is pricing possible on this kind of quotation? If it works then what are the challenges.
