Gaurav,

SAP Implementation can refer to fresh implementation / Upgrade / implementation of new functionality in existing SAP system (can be a separate project or handled by support team), in which we normally adopt the ASAP methodology. Once the Client have prepared a charter, that the scope of the project is so & so, in the next step we study their current business process (AS-IS), based on which we come up with aproposal (TO-BE) which is a document which reflect, what is possible, some of the things may be possible & some of the things may not be possible (out of scope). The difference in the AS-IS & TO-BE on which an agreement is not come upon are captured in Gap Analysis. Based on TO-BE, we start configuring the requirements & there is a possibility that certain Gaps may be plugged at this point or it is also possible that new Gaps are identified during Testing. Core Team is provided with certain templates to start preparing for Master Data & other required data to be uploaded as a cutover activity & also the end users are to be provided training by core team members. Once the project Go-Live happens, certain issues may come & in the initial phase the implementing team handles these issues which are faced by end user & core team & issues are logged by core team to the implementing team initially during Post Go-Live support stage & later in the regular support activity. Ideally Post Go-Live support is for arounf 15 days & then a separate support team handles the issues logged in by the client. There are various tools to log an issues & it depends on which tool is used by client to log the calls.

The above is an overview from Implementation to regular support activity.
