Parameter ID :1053

Hello all..Due to the memory inconsistencies we are planning to change the parameter ID 1053 and change it to file based storage of the risk analysis data.Does this mean that all the tables which usually gets populated during the ad-hoc analysis will be lost and needed to know what are the adverse effects in doing this?

Dear Surya,

if you change the spool type (such as from D to F), the reports will still read the previously generated files or database records. Index tables keep track of the source of the records when the data was generated.

Hi alessandro,

Thank you for the feedback. Can you provide me any document in archiving of the GRC tables regarding how it has to be as we want to clean up the tables but want to archive the data before going for it.

Surya,

there is no archiving functionality available. You can only clear the data from the table. For what purpose do you want to keep the old data from the risk analysis? Please note that I am talking about ad-hoc risk analysis data, not the data that is populated from the batch risk analysis to update your dashboards.

However, the data in the tables can be cleared by running the report GRAC_DELETE_REPORT_SPOOL. You can schedule as a daily job or you can run manually anytime. This will clear the data from below temporary tables:

  • GRACSODREPDATA
  • GRACSODREPINDEX
  • GRACSODREPSTATUS

This report will delete the data from the table space or the file system whichever you use as storage type. For best practices, refer to SAP Note "1580877 - Best practices in storage management for SoD analysis jobs".

Regards, Alessandro
