1. What is WAS 6.20 and WAS 6.40 , I read somewhere integration server connects with other system based on WAS .what is the functionality of these ?

WAS 6.20 & WAS 6.40 are the versions.
WAS is Web Application Server. XI runs on WAS, its like a machine which is having abap stack & java stack.
