Hello All,
I have a word document which I want to display in the portal iView. How can this be done, currently we are not using KM.
Thanks,
Sravs.
Hi Sravanthi,
Using content management create a folder and upload your word document.
copy the the path of the word document which u have uploaded.
And now goto content admin & in the portal content create an iview by choosing the template as
KM DOCUMENT IVIEW & after creating the iview goto iview properties in that u could find a property
by name PATH TO DOCUMENT: for this propety paste the path of your word document
Note: u can get the address of ur word document by : when u open ur document which was uploaded in ur folder in the address space u could get like
for ex:http://<host>:<portnumber>/irj/go/km/docs/documents/Public%20Documents/til/sites.doc
just copy and paste the bold path

Hey make use of a "IFRAME" UI ELEMENT in your application and provide the mandatory property (source of the document) to the IFRAME.Then you can display a word document in the view itself.

Hi,
There is one simple way to view the word document in the Portal iView.
Create a folder in the Portal system with HTTP destination and place the document in the folder.
Now the folder can be accessed via URL and now create an URL iView for that link.
Now you will be able to view the word document.
Hope this is helpful for you.
regards,
Vivek.

/documents/xyz/abc.doc
suppose u r file consists of blank space i,e abc def.doc
/documents/HomePage/abc%20def.doc [for space mention %20 ]

Hi,
if you have "content manager" role, you can go to content management tab,
Create your own Folder, then there's an option to upload File.
Thanks
