What is the difference in lso_psv1 and psv1

Hi All,

What is the difference between psv1 and lso_psv1 transaction code in LSO ?

And pv02 and lso_pv02 ?

And what's the difference between training and event management and TEM in LSO ?

Please share your experiences. Thanks for your time in advance.

Hi Anil

PSV1 is a training and events management transaction but when LSO_ is concatenated before it , it becomes an LSO transaction. same is the case with LSO_PSV2 and PSV2 and 3.

Training and Events Management and LSO are similar to each other but they have following differences:

1. LSO comes with a business package of Learning Portal which sits on existing Enterprise portal of the organization.

2. Online and offline content players which enable a participants either to play the course online or download and run in its offline player.

3. LSO comes with a Java based tool called Authoring environment which enables a training author to make training content. AE is a client desktop tool.

4. Content Management Server which stores the content from the courses and IMG settings are required to make system point towards the CMS.

5. If you dont want Learning portal as a frontend, you can use LSO front end (LSOFE) but it will run on R/3 / ECC system.

In summary, Training and Events management manages the trainings however LSO not only manages the trainings but it enables you to create,store, play the content for these trainings either with a web based or R/3 based front end.

Both LSO and TEM share the same config tables and refer to the same structures underneath as per my experiance.

That really makes an intresting situation when Training and events is implemented and then LSO is being installed on top of that.
