I need to know the basic requirements for the MDM consultant as I am going to attend its training and have little or not much knowledge abt the same.
I am a XI consulat.
Also could you please provide some light where I should focus to excel in this new field?

hi,
_XI and ABAP and Do we require Java Also In advance projects?
_
if you are using COM API's we need java Knowledge.
Is Xi a must Know thing?
1. in MDM, depending on the Scenario's, What we do is, import the data, consolidation, hormonization.
our remote system is SAP, we will get the data in IDOC's. MDM will not understand the IDOC's, it understands the data in XML format. XI converts the IDOC messages to XML messages. These XML data we will import to MDM server through import manager.
After processing the Data ( consolidation, deduplication) and again we will send it back to the respective remote systems.
by using syndicator tool, we can send data in XML format to XI, XI will convert these XML data to Idoc format and send to remote SAP system.
