WBS Element addition in Asset master data-Time dependant tab

Hi all

In Asset master data, in Time dependant tab, i wanted to add interval, & from a new date, add WBS element as the cost object to some Assets, which were on Cost centers earlier.

But, i find that, WBS element is greyed out for all assets where any acquisition has been posted, and so, unable to change this at all.

Business wants to do this urgently.

I checked configurations on Asset accounting > Integration with GL accounting> Addl Act assignment objects> activate addl actg objects. ..here PS_PSP_PNR & PS_PSP_PNR2 are activated.

CAn you suggest some solution urgently ?

Got it. Thanks. But, we also need to understand the reporting implications of this, and if, Asset Reports and Depreciation Reports would show correctly etc. This is important for the entire Finance Dept, as FAR (Fixed Asset Register) and FI Reports should tally without issues.

Hi Manu,

Account Assignment PS_PSP_PNR2 is the field in the asset master record on the tab 'Time-dependent' which is called 'WBS Element (Costs)'. It is normally used to post gain/loss, depreciation and interest on it.

In contrary, the Account Assignment PS_PSP_PNR (WBS Element of Investment Project) is displayed in the asset master data on tab 'Origin' and is called 'WBS element'. It is used to be posted statistically for acquisition or retirement postings.

To ensure the asset posting capture this object you need to configure ASCET as well. for reporting, you can configure the sort version OAVI for standard asset report.

Thanks.

Hi Manu,

Remove the Balance Sheet "ticked" from this configuration SPRO -> Financial Accounting (New) -> Asset Accounting -> Integration with the General Ledger Accounting -> Additional Account Assignment Objects -> Activate Account Assignment Objects.

Then, you should able to enter WBS in AS02

Thanks.
