Hi,

I am trying to configure the ADS on the Sneak Preview, The link given to download the ADS credentials is

https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/business_packages/a1-8-4/a...

I am getting quite an old credential file which is valid only till June07. Has the link changed..? Can someone please send me the new credential files if you have.

Thanks in advance.

regards

Prashant

Does anyone know if for production use, is there a file that last longer than just 3 months? Since my client bought SAP NetWeaver software and license, shouldn't there be a pfx file that last maybe a year and not just a few months.

Anyone from SAP can help enlighten...

SAP license only covers usage of standard Interactive Forms and self-developed non-interactive forms.

If you intend to develop your own Interactive Forms you have to buy additional license from SAP.

Please, advice your customer to contact their SAP sales representative for pricing.

Is there no way to develop/evaluate interactive forms without buying the license yet for development systems??

You can use the credential supplied to you by SAP as described in note mentioned above for development and evaluation without purchasing additional license.

Only productive usage of self-developed forms (mean users are working with your interactive forms in productive system) requires buying additional license.

But they remain non-interactive as you wrote above?

I would like to have a clear statement on that: "using the credentials from SAP my forms remain non-interactive": true or not?

No! If you install credential you can develop interactive forms.

But even with credential you are not allowed to use your forms in productive system without paying license fees.

And this is not a technical limitation, but licensing. Forms will work, but you have to pay for them sooner or later.

Sorry for such comparison, but if you install, say MS Office downloded from some warez site you can technically use it, but it is not going to be licensed.

I have absolutely no intension to use them illegally. I am just trying to figure out, why my forms dobehave like they should (interactive) in preview modus, but statically, the moment I deploy them. Therefore I initially thought I found the reason for that.

I wasn't saying you are trying to use Adobe Forms solution illegally - this was just the explanation of how SAP licenses this features.

As for your last message.

When you preview form in Adobe Lifecycle Designer it is rendered locally and shows as interactive if form properties are set correctly.

If on the other hand the form is rendered on the server it becomes interactive only if server is able to set Adobe Reader rights correctly.

For the latest credential must be installed on the server.

Should the actual credential work with the latest NetWeaver Trial Versions ? or is there a credential file for each Netweaver Trial Version. I ask because i devlopeing at the moment with the Netweaver 7.0s and had the credential till may. Now it isnt working anymore even if i download and installed the credential till july.

Hi Vadivambal ,

The folder strusture you have mentioned is appluacble for 2004 or prior. With 2004S the path is different. Just check with any document related with the ADS configuration for 2004S.

Thanks

Thanks Amol,

I got the credential files. Just one word of caution for people who will use this credential file, The ADS password doesn't have any numeric in this case, By default configuration a numeric is required in password. So you will have to change your UM configuration to use this.

Thanks

hi,

this file/directory structure is on the system on which your j2ee engine is installed....

i did this ages back, i dont remember exactly...

there can be some folder which is installation specific...

like the name of your server etc.... for e.g.
