Query not ready for input

Former Member

Hi all,

I am testing a new environment for IP. To simplify things, here is what I did.

I created a cube with only Product, Year, Amount, plus currency.

I created an aggregation level including all these 4 char.

I built a query with Product and Currency in the row, Year and Amount in the column. Nothing in the free char. No filters.

This query is not ready for input. What might be the problem? Thanks in advance.

Bob

Hi,

Some causes:

- Aggragation Level on multiprovider, also restrict to the single cube.

- Choose "Data can be Changed by entry or function"-option in query designer.

- If you've nothing in your cube, did you choose for all the characteristics values from masterdata table?

- If you've no values and you want to import new rows, choose in WAD or Analyzer select the "insert new lines" at the analysis grid where you assigned your query.

If all fales just make it simple all chars in rows the KF in column and it must be okay. Keep in mind if you directly run the qeury from the query designer you can't save data...

Hope it helps.

Regards,

Juriaan

Hi,

Please verify the following.

1. Check if the underlying realtime cube is in "Planning Mode:Loading not allowed" state in rsa1

2. If you have created an aggregation level, Check if the most detailed information is available at that Aggregation Level(i.e, include characteristics so that the record can be uniquely identified at that aggregation level).Best would be to include all characteristics and create a query first and ensure it works. Then remove unwanted charecteristics one by one, so that you can fix the issue.Best thing to start with is to create the aggregation level on top the real time cube itself.

3. Check for any characteristic restrictions been defined for the real-time cubes. If so, try removing them temporarily and execute the query

4.Also check if any data slices has been created on the real time cube. If so, try removing it temporarily and then execute the query.

5. Set the property for Planning "Start query in Change Mode"- this is for th Query

6. Set the 'Key Figure' Planning Property to "Can be changed Manually or via Planning Functions" for the appropriate KeyFigures- this is for the key figures

7. Try removing the currency/unit from row/column. Try restricting them in filters rather than in row/columns.

8. Check if there are any locks occurring due to filter., i.e if you are using a filter and even if 1 record of this selection locks with another user's selection you lose the input readiness.

Mostly this should fix the issue. Assign points if this info helps you.

Thanks,

Balaji.

Hi Shyam, why would 0unit or 0currency in the row prevent rows from appearing? shouldn't they simply list one by one?

Hi Juriaan, if i choose from master data, it produces a long table with all possible combinations. how do i prevent that? if i do not, then nothing comes out? is it normal?

what do you mean by "Aggragation Level on multiprovider, also restrict to the single cube"?

In WAD or analyzer, there is no option "insert new lines". only an option to prevent new lines. am i missing the place?

thanks very much for your answers.

1) 0unit or 0currency must be restrict by single value in the filter or in the structure element if you use report with structure.

2) If you create Aggragation Level on multiprovider you must restrict Infoprovider characteristic.

Thanks Anton. But still, if 0unit or 0currency are in the row, they should not prevent rows from appearing, right? shouldn't they simply list one by one?

Hi Bob,

Have u enabled the planning property for the key figures....

u can do that in query designer ...in key figure properties...

Reward if it helps,

Ajay

Hi,

The problem could be because of the presence of the characteristics like 0unit or 0currency in rows..

Can u just check by restricting the Currency to a single value and check if the input ready row appears ..
