SNP Heuristic planning in production Horizon

Hello -

I have a question based on the scenario below:

Production Horizon is 14 days

Production Location has a production calendar which does not have the next 14 days.

GR processing time on the prouct master is 10 days.

I have a demand on the 16th day.

I ran the SNP heuristic and I see that a planned order was created with an end date same as the demand date. But due to the GR processing time of 10 days, the start date is now in the prodction horizon( the 14 days window of production horizon and non-workdays) and furthermore since my calendar does not even have the next 14 days as workdays, the system should not have created a planned order with such a start date.

Q1) why did it create a planned order with start date in the production horizon

Q2) Why did the system create a planned order with start date when my next 2 weeks are non-work days..

Am I doing something wrong here? How do I handle this?

Hi Varun ,

There is some problem in the Master data settings as in standard SAP it is clear that SNP does not create any planned orders in the Production horizon but moves production to the first day after this horizon. Also check if this order is generated in previous run or new run.If you have not checked 'Fix Production' in SNP2 tab then SNP deletes all unfixed SNP planned orders from previous planning runs within this horizon.

If you try to take heuristic run in such secnario it will give warning as Processed 'm' nos of location product(s). Created 'n' nos of SNP STOs and 0 planned orders

This horizon starts on the system date (+or date defined in the Planning Start Date field of the planning book or using the PDATE user exit +) also check for the settings .

my SPRO SNP Global Setting for SNP:GR for Plnd Or are

"Processing Time" which should make sure the GR time is considered and it is being considered.

My PDS capacity requirements tab has " Calendar Resource" as checked.

But when the system creates the order, the start date falls in the production horizon.

I really have not been able to find out why the heuristic creates a planned order with the start date inside the production horizon.
