Hi there,
I have a DC created on NWDI track of type Portal Application module and under that I have an abstract portal component. If its a normal project then I could have export it as a par file and then deployed it to the server so that I can make a par file out of it. Now my question is like how I can deploy this Portal application module DC into the portal and how can I make an iView out of this DC. Will it get deployed as a par ifself or in some other format.
Your help is greatly appreciated.
Regards,
Ponraj M
Do not use the Portal Application Module DC type, but use Portal Application Standalone. The first one does not have a deployable result and thus it won't get deployed when you activate and/or transport it with NWDI.

Hi Pascal,
Thanks for your comments. I will create a DC of standalone type and will check. By the way then how that be deployed and put into portal. Will it get deployed as a par file or as sda file(Thats what I read). If it will get deployed as a sda file then is there a way to make an iVIew out of that sda file.

Hi Ponraj,
Even par files also, its the same way you work with WebDynpro using NWDI, but you should have ep_build as a dependent dc in your track. But when you chen in and activate you wont create a i view based on this par file. For this you need to deploy manually.

Hi Praveen,
Can you please elaborate a bit on what you meant. DO you mean to say we cant deploy a par from NWDI track. And if we need to create an iView out of the par file then we have to export it manually(the way we do for normal projects which are not DC ) from the package explorer view. Please help.
