Dear Friends,
I am working in SAP CRM Implementation Project.
Our Client already implemented SAP R/3 4.7.Now they want to Integrate Both SAP R/3 4.7 and SAP CRM 5.0
The Problem is SAP R/3 is Non Unicode System and SAP CRM 5.0 is Unicode System.
My Question is Is that possible to integrate Unicode System with Non Unicode System without any Problem? If so How to Do this?
I am not clear How to Proceed this Problem. Please Help me to Integrate these two systems.
If anyone has done these kind of Integration before Please kindly share your knowledge.
Helpful Answers will be rewarded.
Regards,
Ashok.
Hi Ashok,
Yes. You need to add the entry as suggested in my previous thread.
We also have the similar landscape and after adding this entry we were able to download/upload master and transactional data successfully across R/3 4.6C and CRM 5.0.
Read the OSS note 745030 carefully for better understanding of unicode vs. MDMP systems. Pay attention to the section 2.3 of the note.
Also refer to the notes 718324 and 79991.
By the way do not forget to reward the useful threads.
Thanks,

Hi Ashok,
It is very much possible integrate these two systems. You have to switch off the code page in CRM 5.0, so that both the systems are in sync.
In CRM table SMOFPARSFA, for the key - SMOF maintain these values:
Parameter Name - CODEPAGE_CHECK_OFF
Param. Value - X
Do not forget to reward if it helps,

Please Explain Briefly the Impact of adding the Entry in the Table SMOFPARSFA.

Hi Kumar,
From a technical view you can connect a non unicode ERP with a Unicode CRM.
If you use in the CRM only the same Languages/Codepages as in ERP everything is fine. For example:
CRM only English is used
ERP only English is used
The Important thing to consider is only that you need to avoid sending data in a
codepage that is not known by the backend.
Example:
CRM English and Japanese is used
ERP English is used.
You can only exchange data which is in English created in the CRM.

Volker
