Hi,

I am having the same issue with my report. When I try to add local member it is creating a local member on top of the local member cell.

For example, I have a local member to show description and enabled it. Description showing fine however I can a blank member showing up on top of the Description cell (E10).

Actually I need to write 'Description' on the cell (like ID in the screenshot). Please advise how to remove the blank member so that I can have excel entry.

First, please correct the question tag: primary tag has to be:

EPM Add-In for Excel

Second: I am unable to understand your report layout: what do you mean by row 10? Where do you have Column axis members?

Hi Vadim,

I have profit center, Cost center and GL account in the row axis and category, Time in column. I need to show both ID and desc in the report hence used local members to for desc.

Now my report layout start from Rows B12 and column E12. E11 is my header of the local member. N

Now I need to have ID, Description written on top of the data (excel entries). I can do that for ID by merging cells B10,C10 and D10. However it is not allowing for Description as there is default blank member in E10. I understand it is coming when I add a local member. So wanted to understand how can I remove the blank member.

Just reproduced your report:

If you are talking about this "Blank Member" then it's by design for report with multiple dimensions in column axis (or row axis if local member is row). The description of the local member will be shown only in the inner dimension row - in this case in row 2.

You can use extra row local members to format header like you want. Actual column axis has to be hidden in this case.

P.S. By the way the correct formula for local member in your case will be:

=EPMMemberDesc(EPMMemberID(EPMDIM_CURRENT_MEMBER(FP_PROFIT_CTR)))
