Now I know this index is used to speed up system to search condition record by the fields we could define.

I found in the 'Purchase" view of Vendor (XK03) has this indicator. There having:

-

Indicator: Doc. index compilation active for purchase orders

Indicates that a document index is allowed for purchase orders issued to this vendor. The index is used for determining the relevant purchasing documents affected by changes to conditions offered by the vendor.

Procedure

Only set the indicator if you wish the documents involved to be adjusted automatically by the system when conditions change (that is, conditions that are relevant to pricing).

Only set this indicator if you are completely sure you wish to use the automatic document adjustment function. If you do not use it, you increase the volume of data in your system unnecessarily.

So this means we can adjust document automatically when condition types was changed.

This is a very valuable topic.

The condition index enables you to search for condition records using not only the condition type (for example, prices, discounts, surcharges) and the organizational data, but also other selection criteria that you can define.

I think it means we can add condition record by selecting a condition type then adding others. But here it seems we can divide it more by Vendor, Material etc.

What is your opinion?

Any body having experience?
