hi everybody,

can somebody tell me that if pp goes for variant config , does it be needed that we need sd variant also.

I did not understand the logic in this, can somebody explain

Hi,

Simple way of explaining is:

When the customer ask for a specific variant product, it is SD which creates the variant material (Class, characteristc.. etc), once SD creates the sales order, the requirement will be passed to PP for the variant material. Based on the different variants, they decides the raw material to be used to produce the variant material, they create BOM and process.

So it starts form SD then pass it on to PP.

This is a very siple explanation for your understanding purpose only.

Hi Rajan,

As per my knowledge there is no link bitween PP Variant config and SD config,Some times PP may but SD may not Have , some times SD may have but PP maynot have.

If Iam wrong please correct me,

Hi rajan,

If PP module guys configure variant config, based on the scenarios where sales requirement is there then SD variant pricing is done.

There will be some scenarios for PP uses variant configs involved without involving sales rt.
