Hi Experts:
We created a Generic DataSource on top of a Custom Built Z table . Replicated the DataSource (Solution Manager- DEV) Successfully to BI Dev enviornment. Extarcted data as well. Problem arises when we try to Transport the Generic Data Source from Solution Manager Dev to Solution Manager Prod enviornment.
Couple points:
1. Extract Structure is active for the Generic DataSource but activates with Error Message: TABL ZOXDEV0024 activated
Check table ZOXDEV0024
Enhancement category for table missing
Enhancement category for include or subtype missing
Table ZOXDEV0024 was checked with warnings
2.Transport Fails from DEV to PROD with following Error:
Post-import method RSA2_DSOURCE_AFTER_IMPORT started for OSOA L, date
and time: 20071210155151
Extract structure ZOXSMD0003 is not active
The extract structure ZOXSMD0003 of the DataSource
ZDATASOURCE is invalid
Errors occurred during post-handling RSA2_DSOURCE_AFTER_IMPORT for
OSOA L
RSA2_DSOURCE_AFTER_IMPORT belongs to package RSUM
The errors affect the following components:
BC-BW (BW Service API)
Post-import method RSA2_DSOURCE_AFTER_IMPORT completed for OSOA L,
date and time: 20071210155152
Post-import methods of change/transport request SMDK900294 completed
Start of subsequent processing ... 20071210155150
End of subsequent processing... 20071210155152
Thanks in advance!

Hello,
Just a couple of checkpoints,
Please check if the table on top of which the datasource was created exists in the target system ( in this case the production system).
Also check if the datasource has been replicated in the system. Please go onto the source system in which the datasource exists (After it has been transported in that particular system) and replicate the Source system for the datasources.
That would bring in the extract structure from the source system into BW system. Once thats done you can go ahead and import the actual transport of the datasource and you should be fine.
Let me know if this answers your question. If so please award the points. If not let me know more details and I will provide you more details regarding the same.
Thanks
Dharma.

Hi Dharma:
Thanks for you Response. The table on which the DataSource is created is already successfully transported to Production. The Table and the Program that populates the table both successfully moved to Production in One transport.
In other Transport, I just had the GenericDataSource and that one errored out with Error 8. However, when I tried to Replicate the DataSource in BI system, I see the Generic DataSource but filelds are not there.
Please Clarify this:
Also check if the datasource has been replicated in the system. Please go onto the source system in which the datasource exists (After it has been transported in that particular system) and replicate the Source system for the datasources
Hy Rez,
Check Generic Ds in Dev.Is Gen DS in Active.
Due to some DB issues it may happens.Try to transport it once again.
If same issue will occur then check the DS.
Again replicate it into Dev.
Is every objects related to the Gen DS is transported ot not.
Check the logs clearly in transport.
r u directly transporting into production.
hope this helps.
Let us know the status if you still facing the same issue.

Hello,
When you mentioned you were not able to see the fields in the DataSource in BW, did you check in RSA3 if you were able to see the extractions.
If not please go into transaction code RSA3 enter the DataSource in there and check if you are actually able to see the data in production if not then the R/3 transport itself hasn't been sent in properly.
Please do let me know.
Thanks
Dharma.
