Postal code

Dear All

In SAP, "Postal Code" is mandetory field. But I want to make it unmandetory

Please help me out.

Dear Eknath

Follow the IMG path - Financial Accounting --> Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable --> Customer Accounts --> Master Data --> Preparation for creating Master Data --> Define Account Groups with screen layout.

Here select your account group and click blue lens on top. Double click "General Data" and "Address". Now you have the option to make it "optional"

We have done this but still system ask for postal code in address as mandetory field. I think it is internal checking. please let me know

Dear Mr Dalvi,

I presume the data is sought at the time of creation of master data or amendment of existing master data.

Kindly execute the customising transaction OB20.

Select the appopriate transaction (create or change).

Select Field status General Data.

Select the field group 'Address'.

Double click to view details.

Kindly verify if the field is set to 'Required entry'.

It may suitably be changed to Optional entry or be suppressed altogether.

Hello Friend,

I think u know the procedure how to do it, just to make it more clear I am giving you step wise how to do,

01. Go to '<b>OVT0</b>', find your account group and then display that.

02. Now give a double click on general data.

03. Now double click on address.

04. Now select the optional entry radio button.

05. And save it.

Now you can create customer master and yoou will have the postal code as optional field.

<b>And will not have any bad impace nywhere</b>.

Hi Eknath,

In IMG go to General settings --> set countries --> set country specific checks.

There choose your country --> go to details . You will find that there is a section on checks where u can enable or disable postal code required or not required.

Also check address form.

Hi Eknath,

I just checked it is working in my case let me know once you have made the postal, city as optional and try to create customer whether u r able to see the postal and city fields in the screen.

It should not display those fields in the screen.
