Hi Gurus,

In my next project i need to work on EDI / IDoc. For that i would like to know what is SD consultant role and ABAPers role.

Vamsi P
Hi Vamsi,
For eg if the client wants the sales data to be moved into SAP from a different system then in that case you need to identify which is the relevant Message type like WPUBON and then you should identify which are all the segment in the message type that are applicable and which are the additional fields that can be added in each of the segments and then you need to define the partner profiles for the relevant message type based on whether it is inbound idoc or outbound idocs etc.
The ABABper would ideally write a bespoke program which might be required for the job that will be shceduled to create the Idocs,be it inbound or outbound idoc..
if it is outbound idocs change pointers in the system need to be identified.
Hope it helps.
Rgds,
Aram K.
