BI Accelarator Implementaiton scenarios

Hi,

As described in documention, one of the scenario for implementation of BI

Accelator when a BW (2,3x) exist would be the

-> Data Mart (Scenario 3) : 'Data mart from existing SAP BW (2.x or 3.x) to new SAP NetWeaver 2004s'.

Can anybody bring more detail about this scenario. The principal question is to know what should be exactly done in BI7 side. How does the data staging and extraction work in 3x side. These questions implies the implementation time and effort.

what they mean is you install a separate BI7, you use the datamart interface in 3.x to load critical datacubes in BI7 and make sure the BIA works fine in BI7. It is less effort "short-term" than actually doing an upgrade, but you'll be maintaining 2 BI systems.

I would be really interested to hear that this scenario is implemented somewhere.

So far, I haven't seen such a case. Discussed this with one of the customers, but we came to the conclusion that this does not make sense long term.
