Characterstics

Hi Guys,

we have two material, both material having class and class type as 023 (batch). Interestingly for one material while creating sales order all characteristics are getting trigger whereas for one material it is not.

What could be the possible reason?

Please share your ideas.

check whether materials have batch master record in MSC2N or MSC3N and also check in the same transactions whether the characterstics are present or not, if not present then create in batch master

Hi Shiv,

Are the 2 sales orders raised on the same day.?if not Check whether any changes are made in the characteristics(go to CT03 and see the change overview under Environment in the Menu bar) in between these 2 sales orders.

Ideally material type needs to be KMAT for configurable material. If not please ensure that the "Material is configurable" button in the Basic data2 of MMR is ticked on for both the materials.

We don't want to maintained material type as kmat but fert, to maintained material in batches.
