Crystal Report Server 2016

181 Views Last edit Nov 01, 2017 at 01:30 PM 8 rev

We have been using Crystal Reports Server 2008 (v12.3.0.601) to generate our reports for many years. With upgrading to version 2016 (v14.2.4.2410) it fails to generate reports. We use following ReportClientDocument code to open a report

ReportClientDocument rcd = new ReportClientDocument();

rcd.setReportAppServer("localhost");

rcd.open("C:\crystal\report.rpt", 0);

with v2016 in the same environment, above open() statement failed with following exception

com.bita.exception.SystemException: com.bita.core.processor.model.WriteReportException: java.lang.RuntimeException: java.lang.RuntimeException: com.crystaldecisions.sdk.occa.report.lib.ReportSDKServerException: The system cannot find the path specified.

I thought I might need to update all crystal report jars, but it seems ReportClientDocument is no longer available. My questions

1. Is Crystal Reports Server 2008 jars compatible with v2016 reports server?

2. If not, is there developer guide describing how to achieve what I want to do?

Thanks in advance.
