Crystal Report Server 2016

We have been using Crystal Reports Server 2008 (v12.3.0.601) to generate our reports for many years. With upgrading to version 2016 (v14.2.4.2410) it fails to generate reports. We use following ReportClientDocument code to open a report

ReportClientDocument rcd = new ReportClientDocument();

rcd.setReportAppServer("localhost");"C:\crystal\report.rpt", 0);

with v2016 in the same environment, above open() statement failed with following exception

com.bita.exception.SystemException: com.bita.core.processor.model.WriteReportException: java.lang.RuntimeException: java.lang.RuntimeException: The system cannot find the path specified.

I thought I might need to update all crystal report jars, but it seems ReportClientDocument is no longer available. My questions

1. Is Crystal Reports Server 2008 jars compatible with v2016 reports server?

2. If not, is there developer guide describing how to achieve what I want to do?

Thanks in advance.

Can anyone help?

I am looking for CrystalReportsSDK.jar, which shall be located at C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0\java\lib. My installation however does not include this file. How do I get this sdk jar?

I have got my reports working with Java SDK jars from 2016 installation. Java SDK wasn’t installed earlier. When I ran installer again, it didn’t let me tick “Developer Components” option. This was because the “Central Configuration Manager” was stopped. After starting the manager, I could install Java SDK.

Developer Guide is here:

Check the “Development” sub-section
