Hi Sabina,

1) After the Go-Live phase the end user would start using the SAP system for all the business processes and execution. During the process incase he comes up with issues or errors we would have to address them. Eg) Incorrect Material Price or Sales Area was not determined etc. These are the end user or post go live issues.

Hoped it had helped. Do reward if it had

Hi Sabina,

Common Distribution Channel

Consider you have three Dist Chnls (01, 02 & 03) and 10 customers who can buy thru either of these dist chnls. In order to enter a sales order you will have to extend the customers to all the 3 Dist Chnls, which means for 10 customers you will have 30 records in the tables. In real time scenario the number of customers and dist chnls are huge and they keep increasing. Imagine the amount of data you will have to maintain.

For this purpose SAP came up with the Common Distribution Channel Concept where you would identify the dist chnl for which you can maintain records and in the process reduce the number of records and also use it for the other dist chnls too.

If you create the dist chnl 01 as the common dist chnl and link 02 & 03 to it, you will have to maintain only 10 records and still can use it for all the 3 dist chnls. The same is applicable for the common division.

Hope this helped you. Do reward if it had.

Hi dear,

COMMON DISTRIBITION CHANNEL :

By defining common distribution channels we can have common master data.. This helps you minimize the cost of creating and maintaining the master data.

For example, You can create customer master data for distribution

channel "01" and define it so that it is valid for distribution channels

"02" and "03".

This is applicable to customer, material and condition master.....

COMMON DIVISION:

Again purpose is same but this is applicable to only customer and condition master not to MATERIAL.

Hope this helps....Reward if useful....

cheers,

Hi Sabina,

The commoin distribution channel & division reduces the master date creation.

I will explain u what we are doing in our project.

our client has domestic sales & export sales

DS-domestic sales & DE-Export sales

we have defined common DC=00

We are creating master data using common distribution channel but when creating sales order we sjhould enter export sales Dist channel C=DE

eg: customer=ABCD will be created in sales area 0001/00/00

0001- sales org / 00=common dist channel / 00=common division

but when sales order creation va01----> we will created in sales area 0001/DE/00

Note:

This is one method of doing. Depends upon client requiremnt it will vary.

eg: You can have two diferent sales org for dosmestic & export in that case

master data will have to be extended & sales order will be created according to exports/ domestic sales org.

Rewrad points pls.

Govind.

Hi,

-Post Go-live is nothung but after going live. Issues (problems) which come after Going live are to be handled which are created by end-user.

-You can define that customer master records, which have been created for each sales organization for a distribution channel (or division), are also valid in other distribution channels (or divisions). As a result, you create and change customer master records that are required in different distribution channels or in different divisions only once. This makes it easier to create and change master records.

Common Distribution Channel and Common Divison are maintained so that if any master data like customer or material maintained with respect to one distribution channel can be used in other DCh. It prevents the multiplication of master records.

Eg: A customer is created for say sales area 1000/20/00 then the same customer can be used in sales area 1000/30/00 if we maintain 20 as common distribution channel. Hence no need for extending the customers...the same for materials also.
