Good Morning,
We are experiencing frustrating problems with the MDM Import Manager.
Each time we try to manually import a segment from ARTMAS03 IDocs, the Import Server crashes. If we restart the Import Manager and then try to import the segment again, the segment is imported without any problems.
Then, when trying to manually import the next segment of the ARTMAS03 Idoc, the MDM Import Server crashes again. We then have to restart the MDM Import Server, manually import the segment and it is imported without any problems.
This process needs to be repeated every time a segment is imported. Needless to say this is getting a little tedious!
If anyone out there in "sdn-land" can help us, this would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
Jonathan Black
Apologies for any confusion in my initial post.
I am using the Import Manager for the manual import and for the creation of an import map.
I've checked the logs but there is nothing to assist in determining what is going on.
I am experiencing these problems on Windows XP.
When I click on "Import" (the exclamation mark), I get the standard Windows Error Message:
"SAP MDM Import Manager has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience"

Jonny

Good Morning everyone,
This problem is now resolved.
The reason was that we were doing it wrong - instead of mapping individual segments and the fields located therein, we were supposed to perform look-ups from the ARTMAS segment, to the fields that we needed to map in the other segments within the artmas idoc.
Thanks
Jonny
Hi Jonathan,
I think your MDM GUIs are loaded on windows 2007/vista. MDM is not compatible with these window versions. It only works with windows 2000/2003/XP.
If its loaded on 2007/vista your GUIs will crash.
I hope I am able to solve your problem.

Hi Jonathan,
your description is a bit unclear to me. The Import Server is used for automated imports, you cannot import manually using this service. The Import Manager is used for the manual import (as well as the creation of import maps, and so on). So could you please clarify, if it's only the Import Manger crashing?
In the meantime, do get any error messages for the crashes? Did you check the logs, maybe there's some useful information available?
BR Michael
