Hi all,

Does anybody have expirience with sap web dispatcher running on VMware ?

Does anybody know if SAP supports this combination as normal ?

I intend to ask SAP itself, but as I am pressed for time maybe one of you have such a setup already.

let me know ! thanks.

Hi,

Not exactly an answer to your question, but I can tell you that I use successfully the webdispatcher running on Microsoft virtual server.

I don't see why it should not work with VMware.

The webdispatcher is a very simple standalone software (no database).

The only problem should be with performance if you expect a very high load.

Regards,

Olivier

Well, according to http://www.golem.de/0712/56516.html "SAP supports VMware ESX Server" (sorry, it's in German)

And this can be found at SAP's website: http://www.sap.com/community/pub/showdetail.epx?itemID=10625

SAP said some VMware types are supported, but not in production scenario's.

also, support mainly for 64 bits, not 32.
