Question regarding Update from an ODS

Hi Experts,

I have an issue of data mismatch between oa ODS 0FIGL_O02 and the InfocubeSFIGL_C02.

the infocube is getting updated through the ODS(By means of generated Datasource).

I have some Question:

1) If i delete the data selectively from Infocube and ODS and then load full request for that selection:

wather the change log data will be deeted autometically while deleting the data selectively from ODS?.

2) I am not getting all generated the generated datasource inspite of selecting "Display generated Objects" from Menu bar.

Please Help me ASAP.

if i delete the data selectively from Cube and ODS both and then load the data in to ODS for that selection (As repairfull request) now if I will try to update my Cube from the ODS, will the data in Change log cause any incostency (Because the data in change log will not be deleted from change log while selective deletion. )

please Advice me ASAP as its an issue in Production.

Yes, you can do it very well.

No inconsistency could be found

Yes. It will cause inconsistency because when you are activating the ODS after repair full load then again the records which are getting activated will move to the change log and it will cause inconsistency if u load delta from ODS.

So i suggest you not to load delta from ODS to cube better again go for a repair FULLfrom ODS to Cube..if it satisfies ur requirement.

Just selectivel;y deleting would cause incocnsistency as errorneuos records would be there in chasnge log and will get posted when delta happens..

So if you know erroenus req - you can delete and re laod it to ods first..and then do delta..

Or

Correct data in ODS by selective deletion and then do Full repair to cube and then

re init from ODS to cube.

Hi,

1. No the change log will not be deleted only deletion happens on active table of ODS if u do selective deletion.

2.In the root of info sources, select "Insert Lost Nodes" option.

Hope it solves ur issues

1) I dont think so data gets deleted frm change log

2) try refreshing or loggin off/on to see generated objects.. this heppens to me sometimes also..
