system recovery function in Windows

Hello!

Let's assume the colleague of mine deleted yesterday the whole folder /usr/sap/<sid> or deinstalled them with SAPINST.

<b>Do I have the possibility to recover the state before the delition with Windows system recovery functions via:

System --> Programs --> Accessories --> system programs --> system recovery</b>

Thank you very much!

regards

Thom

    no, This won't work because SAP applications (except for SAPGUI) are not registered in Windows registry as Installed programs.

    you will need to recover from your OS backup you run once a day.

    Hello,

    Only option is to talk with your OS administrator and try to recover it....

    if he delete /usr/sap/<sid> or uninstall the sap using SAPINST but if he did not uninstall database than install central instance again for same database,

    Hi,

    Yes you can ,but after the installation of SAP if you set system restore option in the OS ,then only you can restore entire OS ,otherwise you cant.

    Check : Mycomputer->properties->system restore

      Hi,

      It could be possible yes if you have a system restore option in OS but it cannot be guranteed that everything works fine.

      Cheers
