How to assign sy-uname to customer exit variable ?

Hello Guys,

Please help. I am designing a query, which has a characteristic Employee.

And I would like to filter the result by assigning the logon user to Employee.

I create a customer exit variable VAR_EMPLOYEE_EXIT in the query designer for Employee characteristic. when user navigate this query, he firstly input the logon information, and then could directly see his personal data report, without variable selection screen.

My idea is to assign the sy-uname to VAR_EMPLOYEE_EXIT .

But I am not familar with the customer exit code, now what's in my program ZXRSRU01 is

DATA: L_S_RANGE TYPE RSR_S_RANGESID.

CASE I_VNAM. "

WHEN 'VAR_EMPLOYEE_EXIT'.

ENDCASE.

Therefore, my two questions are

1) Is the customer exit the most efficient way? not sure, seems the replacement path does not work.

2) Can somebody please fill the ZXRSRU01 code (please in detail) for me if I am in the right way.

Thank you very much.
