Secure LDAP communications to ABAP engine

Hello all,

Is it possible to secure LDAP communications between AD and the ABAP stack in a ECC 6.0 installation? We are setting up ECC (using the LDAP tcode) to replicated user information from AD but the client is inquiring about securing the transmission of user data, eventhough passwords cannot be replicated. Is SNC a possible solution here?

This is independent of a user logging in (either through SSO or kerberos).
