File2File Scenario

Hi All,

Good Evening. I created a file in XI server with the name
10.1.32.53\sender\xi_input.dat &
10.1.32.53\receiver\xi_output.dat and i specify the sorce/target directory in the parameters tab of communication channels for both sender and receiver as

Source Directory:
10.1.32.53\sender

Filename: xi_input.dat

Target Directory:
10.1.32.53\receiver

Filename: xi_output.dat

Could you please tell me these notation is correct or not?

I think this is ok.

After activating all the Repository & Directory Objects. I went to the Message mapping of IR and pressing the test tab there i enter the data and paste the xml file of source view data in notepad and save it as
10.1.32.53\sender\xi_input.dat.

And i seen the file in the same directory of XI Server, it was there and it will be deleted after 60 secs.

But i am not able to see the file in the target directory.

I Also gone throough the RWB, component monitoring there AE working well and there is no error in communication channel.

But IE gives the error and i am not able to find out this error. Have you any idea about this. If you have the solution, Please help me.

Thanks & Regards,

Nagarjuna.

HI Nagarjuna,

I hope you are giving the correct path of XI server, from where xi server is supposed to get the files. You can create the ftp location to your windows machine and the create two folders for sender and receiver and also check that you have full authorizations to create a file or folder inside that.

My concern :

- check out for the correct FTP location or server location for XI

- File name is okay with dat

- check out for the permissions for target directory.

- after runnin this scenario just check out the wat is status at SXMB_MONI. if it is checkered flag then u successfully completed it. check out in target location for file. if no checkered flag try for the error msg n paste it here.

- check out the <b>SERVER LOCATION</b>.

Hope this will help you.

Hi Ashish,

Thanks for your explonation.

But, in this case i am not going to use any FTP server. i created a folder on XI server ( Goto-->Run and enter
10.1.32.53 it tooks me inot XI server, there i created the folder) then i specified the same folders in the parameters tab of Communication channels as

Source Directory:
10.1.32.53\sender

File name: xi_input.xml.

Is this notation is correct or not tell me?

I am expecting sharp response for further step.

Thanks & regards,

Nagarjuna

Hi Nagarjuna,

I just given an example that you can create the FTP location in your window machine and then check if you working correctly. In this case , if you XI Server locates at 10.1.32.53, you can give the path you are giving. or the best way is use sxmb_ifr , this will show you the web page and just check out ur server address in url .. check out for the same folder after the first string in the server and then create the folders inside that. then from there , you xi system will pick the files from server and you must be locate that path to the file CC.

Hope this will clear you a bit.

Hi Nagarjuna,

I guess the userid/pwd you are using to login into the XI needs to have the permission to the share folder you created. So please check that. In any case a proper error logging will be available in the cc monitoring. Please check that too.

Nagarjuna,

i am not sure how this dir works
ip\sender

chekc in AL11 in XI for the source directory format. Try to use one of the directory for your purpose e.g. DIR_HOME (use the path E:\usr\....)

Hi

please the file format to " .xml" in the input and output

Again check if the file is picked from the source dir after 60 sec , if so the sender side is ok

Then check in the receiver side whether the file is in create mode ....if its in create mode it will be automatically created . Else u have to create the file and give as Append mode

Hi Nagarjuna,

Since you are using XML file input the Source file name should be saved as "xi_input.xml" in the source folder the name in Quotes as shown .Use this convention and try again.

Thanks,

Ramakrishna.

Hi Jhansi,

I already created the folder in
10.1.32.53\sender and
10.1.32\53\receiver.

I m also specified the names in parameters tab of communication channels as

source Directory:
10.1.32.53\sender

File Name: xi_input.dat.

Is it Correct or not?

Please tell me.

That's all.
