Hi All,

When I create fixed asset capitalisation either directly or through AP invoice, distribution rule that's attached to the FA does not get populated automatically in the Journal. Even if you select a distribution rule in AP invoice it does not show when the journal is created. I'm not sure what the purpose of having cost accounting tab in fixed asset master

Distribution rule from cost accounting tab of an asset is used for posting depreciation costs during depreciation run, if you check "Consolidate journal entry by distribution rules" option.

Regarding AP invoice, distribution rule will only be populated in the journal if posting is performed to account type Sales or Expenditure. Depending on your legislation, you are probably posting AP invoice for fixed asset to some balance sheet account that is marked with type Other.
