Is there a way that SD can consume material reservations?

Part numbers with a material reservation are being maintained in our SAP as MRP Type YD.

I use transaction MB21/MB22 to create and change material reservations. As we receive customer orders for these parts, and from the specific account that we are holding the material reservation, is there a way to consume the material reservation? If so, what is the transaction and does it generate billing to the customer?

There is no way that a sales order can consume a manually created reservation, if you don't use it for a manual goods movement then you only can delete the reservation when the sales order comes in.

May I know why you are creating a manual reservation and why you want to link it to sales order? Could you please share the business process.

We are using material reservations to hold inventory for those customers who have signed an inventory agreement. It would be great if these material reservations can be consumed when the customer orders their product so that we can use ZMB24 to see what is left and what was consumed.
