There are various options to use environment variables within HANA XSA Development. The most direct way is to define an environment variable for a single XSA application (module) is using, like:

xs set-env <app> <variable> <value>

Other options are:

  • xs srevg (env var group for running environment) and
  • xs ssevg (env var group for staging environment).

When should xs srevg or ssevg be used, instead of set-env, only when enviroment is used by multiple modules?

What is the difference between "xs srevg" and "xs ssevg", running and staging (For me this is not clear from the documentation)?

Thx in advance, HP
