Updating marketing attributes through ELM

Former Member

Hi experts,

I trying to use ELM to update marketing attributes on business partners. However when I try to update attributes with fixed values I get error, e.g.

Attribute: Hobby

Values: 1 - sport

2 - dance

The csv-file I try to upload looks like:

1000001; J;

Where 1000001 is the business partner number.

When I come to the step map data I get an error saying: <i>J is an invalid format for the field hobby.</i>

Any suggestions?

Regards Camilla

In defining mapping format did you maintain for the hobby Possible Values, and Asigned Values?

Hi Radek,

What do I need to maintain here?

Hey

go to maintain Mapping Formats, find the one you are using and open it.

In the left side of the screen click checbox of your attribute and click ExpandAdvanced Mapping Rules.

There you can see Possible Values, for each of them you have Assigned values. you will have to maintain here you values.

As far as I remember you will have to for your attribute write for possible values (eg.1, 2) your Assigned values from csv file (eg. J from file).

Ask if you have further questions.

You can read CR600 training - section Advanced Mapping Rules.

But, the csv file contains the same values as the possible values for the attribute:

The possible value for the attrbute is J (yes) and N (no).

C

Sorry, I can understand why you are confused. My example is not correct. It is as follow:

Marketing attribute: Active, values Y, N

File on format: 1000001; N;

Hi

I thought about this earlier.

I've just made similar example, and it went ok.

BP number and value of attribute for BP.

System only displays error if I wanted to import "w" not "W" which was in Possible Values.

Look if you entered any other sign in CSV, for example space next to N.

The best would be to copy value from Maintain Mapping Formats - Possible Values field, and insert it into CSV. Then you will be sure it's 100% the same.

Write how it went.

I would suggest you use one of the Expert Tools instead of ELM
