RESTART SAP XI SERVER-XI Qs

Hi rajesh,

I dont its is required when u r doing the soft restart....becuase itself will close all the quiires .........

And the processdoing the soft restart is:

You have to restart the J2EE engine

the steps to do this is mentionaed below:

Transaction code "SMICM" -> administration -> local J2EE instance -> Restart with soft shutdown.

I advice you please stop all the sender communication channel before restarting the server

also run SXMB_moni

go to integration engine configuration

put category runtime and click specific configuration

There in stop runtime by making its value 1 from 0

This is sufficent.

Hi,

There is no need to shutdown the XI Queue if you are shutting down the XI Server.

Try this step to Shutdown XI.

Try Tcode SMICM

Then go to administration -> local J2EE instance -> Restart with soft shutdown.

in addition to my reply

to restart xi server there are two things

1) if you want to restart only java server then steps are as descibed by sai ganesh goto transaction SMICM=>administration=>j2eeinstance local=>softshutdown with restart

2) if you want to restart total XI server including java and abap then you have to restart with SAP MANAGER

go to SAP MANAGER and stop and start xi server like if you have done in SQL server

its just like doing windows stop and start
