During PA40 hiring action - How can I stop user from skipping infotype0008

Hi There,

While doing hiring action via PA40, at times users are skipping infotype 0008 from entering, thinking that they will enter that information at later stage but they are forgetting and not filling up this information. How can we prevent user from skipping infotype 8 with out entering/saving data? Thanks.

    Hi Sarita,

    I beleive this is what has to be done.

    Whenever we are Hiring an employee through PA40 all the Infotypes which are defined in the Infogroup appear on the screen for loading the data.

    So , we need to go to SPRO in Define Infogroups , Select Hire Action and Remove the entry for IT 0008.

    This way the It 0008 screen would not be appearing the next time you try to hire employee through PA40.

    Hi Rohit,

    I think you got me wrongly, Infotype 0008 should appear and Users must enter data and save it before going to another infotype. They should not skip infotype 0008 with out saving it? Hope I'm clearer this time. Thanks.

      I misunderstood on the first go.

      Anyways, How are you going out of the IT 0008 screen , are they clicking on the exit buttton.

      As far as i know you cannot leave IT 0008 properly unless the data gets saved in the system.

    Hi,

    During hiring only Actions Infotype is mandatory. All other infotypes may be maintained or not. To my knowledge we do not have any IMG activity where we could make this infotype mandatory so that the user could not skip and go to next infotype in the infogroup.

    Sorry... we cannot stop users skip this step!

    There is no config which would allow you to keep this check. However by means of a development the check can be incorporated. You will have to define a user exit on the hiring action for IT 00008. An ABAPer will develop this check for you.

    Thanks for your information, even i'm thinking in those lines only. Any idea what logic we can put there, based upon our functional inputs only ABAPer will construct. Thanks.

      Exit Name Description

      HRPC0001 HR: PC download authorization

      HRRPAI01 User exit for FB HR_ENTRY_DATE and HR_LEAVING_DATE

      PARA0001 Enhancement for Determining the Number of Periods

      PARA0002 Enhancement for Calculating Annual Salary; IT0008,14,15

      PBAS0001 PA: Pers.Admin./Recruitment: Default values and checks

      PBAS0002 PA: Enhancements for Personnel Administration - Menu

      PBASRP01 PA: User exit distributed reporting

      HRPBAS01 User exit for personnel number validation

      I think exit PARA0002 will work for this requirement.
