How to get a footer only on the last page.

Hello,

can you please give me any idea how to force LiveCycle ES to display any footer only on the last page of a dynamic form? I can write a short script which would check if the dynamically generated page of the report is the last one or not, but how can I do it in a Form design? If I create a footer on Master page, under a content area, then the place reserved for the footage will be generated on each page (it will be hidden because of the script condition), but not only on the last one. I would like to display the footer only on the last page not to make the previous pages shorter because of the place for hidden footer.

Does anyone have any idea?

Thank you very much for any suggestions.

Best Regards,

Jan

Your not putting that "footer" on our Master Page are you? You should create your "additional page" and have it there. That way it will come last and not try to force it self on your Master Page.

You can try out it through scripting.

1. Put it in the master page.

Make the footer subform invisible, through scripting, find out the no: of pages and make the footer sub form visible when the page number = last page.

2. If you are putting it in the Body page, you need to do the scripting according ly to find the data length. I thik this will be a bit complex.

This is all what comes to my mind now. If you find any innovative solution, kindly post it.

For scripting concerns, you may please refer the Adobe development center scripting samples and also the related blogs in SDN.

Anto.

I wouldn't think of it as a footer if it's just the last page. It would be more like a subform that ,as you said, would be determined by script to show on the last page. You could change the "flow" of the subform so the are is compressed if not displayed/visible.

Hello,

thank you for your reply, but the situatiation is the following:

I have a dynamic form with two tabels, both of them are included into two separated subforms. And because I do not know how many lines will have each of them I have no clue how to force Designer to display the footer (or any object) at the very buttom on the last page only. I already included the footer into separated subform before I asked the question, but the problem is, that the footer is not displayed at the very buttom of the page, but directly behind the second tabel (subform). So it can happen that the second tabel will end at the top of the last page, it can have only 5 lines on the last page and in this case the footer will be displayed at the top or in the middle of the last page, not at the very buttom. This is my problem.

Thank you once again for any suggestions.
