Variable does not support interval selections error message

Hi experts,

In BI 7.0 I have a query and a variable for field 'customer po # ' which is defined as single.

Everytime I enter any single value which contains ' - ' E.g. PL-180 it gives me a error message " variable does not support interval selections ".

Please can someone tells me how to bypass this error?

FYI...this is not an issue in 3.5 version.

Hi Cesar

Instead of entering the value,click on the box on the right and go and find the value in the pop up list and select that, this will show you the format the variable is expecting as an input, i had a similar issue with '-', in the end it was expecting "\-".

Yes, BI converts "-" to "\-".

So this is the trick to get values with contains "-".
