Container variable issue in Alert category - Long test

Under Long text (Email or Fax), I have defined a bunch of variables for receiving alerts. They all seem to work ok except for this particular one.

Error: &SXMS_TO_ADAPTER_ERRTXT&

I only get truncated one line of text and not the 3 lines I see in the adapter monitor details.

This container variable is defined as char255. Any idea what I can do to fix this?

Thanks,

Pam

    check SAP Note 913858,specially question# 10

you are having the issue coz of the length of container variable being greater than 255

    Thanx

This has always been a problem. You have apply the note in order to increase the size of the message being displayed..!! Due to our client policies.. we are living with 255 chars as of now..!!

I cannot apply note 947738 since we are on SP9 and this note is included.

I changed SXMS_TO_ADAPTER_ERRTXT to char256 since it was pointing to char70.

I still get truncated message. Any idea what I can do?

Is char70 still loaded in the cache....do you think a cache refresh might help?

At this point, I'm willing to get 256 instead of 70.

      Thanks,

      Pam
