ESS: approver manager in different company

Hi,

We have a globan corporation and several company codes in dirrerent countries. There is OM in use and workflow in ESS/MSS is following the normal structure with approvals. Now there is a problem with approving e.g. vacations, when manager is in different organisation and the structure behind is not straight forward. Employee's manager is not in the same unit, but in different country and legal entity.

What kind of solutions there is to solve this?

I'm not very keen on building the Matrix Organization...

Hi,

Generally that shouldn't be an issue. The manager can be in a different organization. The workflow in ESS Leave request doesn't do much. It just creates a workitem for the inbox. All the data and process is stored n the PTREQ* tables. Maybe you have an issue if the manager has a different WEBMO, compared to the employee. But even that should work without any issues.
