Text Variable

Hi,

I'm trying to create a Text Variable in BI 7.0 BEx Query Designer. but the option is disabled. I can only create Carectoristic Value variable.

Can any one help me how to create Text Variable.

    you should be able to create a text variable while entering row or column header descriptions... while entering these, press the button next to it for variables. There you will get the option for creating text variables.

    In the Selection description - Right Hand Side - Yellow Icon - Entry Of Variables - New Variable - Type of var - Text - Prc Type - Replacement --Replacement Tab - placement Variable with Variable - Variable - Tech name of variable for User entry Var

    Hello Kiran,

    Besides the description text zone of your object or query, you have an icon for selecting a text variable. If it's greyed out, change the view from display to modif (you have to it, even if the query is already in modif) and then click on it.

    In there, you should be able to either select an existing one or create a new one.

    If you can`t, you should perhaps contact your security team, as you could have restrictions for it.
