Multiple Telephone Numbers

When adding multiple telephone number in transaction BP there is a dropdown list called Preferred with 2 options in it.

These options are: 'Telephone' and 'Mobile Telephone'

however this selection is greyed out and defaults to 'Telephoe' so we cannot flag any telephone numbers as 'Mobile Telephone'

Does anyone know what needs to be done to make the selection list active?

Hi,

I've seen this field, and when I get into BP in change mode, and get into this subscreen

the dropdown list was editable.

This subscreen in noeditable only if you enter BP in display mode.

I am in change mode becasue I can add a new telephone number but this dropdown list is still greyed out and is defaulted to 'Telephone'.

I do not have the option of changing it and don't know how to fix this.

I am wondering whether there is some setting in the IMG.

Hi David

If you havent maintained the mob telephone number in the communication set-type, then you wont be able to change the value in the field "preferred".

Maintain Tel num and Mob tel num first, save and then select the preferred method of communication...

This should be it.

Try this - write a mobile telephone number in BP in Address tab in Communication area in field Mobile phone. If you type it, then the option of changing preffered medium will be possible.

The Mobile Tel no field was hidden in screen config. and I didn't realise it was a separate entry field hence why I didn't know why it was greyed out.
