MDM Experts,
My query is wrt the access one can have as a "role".Can we assign search criteria to a role(other than Admin) or person to restrict what he or she can view in while searching?
Regards,
Krutarth
Hi Krutarth,
We can define a role and accordingly give access to that particular role. But in Tables and Fields we can only mention that whether that particular table or field inside that table be only Viewed or modified.
Also some constrainst can be added to Lookup flats and the look up taxanomies..
For searches, these constrainst can then be applied to the named searches.
Thanks and Regards

Hi Krutarth,
If you observe the Functions tab under any particular role you can find that it is possible to restrict many functionality for the records in the table under a particular role. such as restriction on record operations, images, masks etc
However there is no function as SEARCH mentioned there which means we cant restrict the searches based on different users we can select the records based on the search criteria but the option to edit those selected records can then be restricted.
The save as local search and retrieve as local serach will be made available for all users
Hope it helped

Simona

hi,
1. define a role
2. for that particular role, you can assign constrints (in tables/ fields tab) according to your requirement.
follow this link: ( you can find release notes on constraints)
