SAPsetFilterComponent - Direct Input of TEXT or ID

Hi Experts,

I have read through the question and thread submitted by Alberto Sabate on this topic in ernest hoping to find a solution that could possible apply to my need.

Contrary to Alberto’s case - my user want to be able to directly input in the filter selection either “Text” or “Key” regardless of the display mode (Text and Key, Key and Text) of the selected characteristic.

The standard option by SAP is inputting text (when display option is Text and Key) and vice versa. If you try to Input key in this case, an error message "Input ... is not a valid Element of Dimension ...; Input is discarded (ID-105039)" will appear.

Please can someone be of help with a suitable workaround to achieve the requirement. I will appreciate a quick Response.

Thanks for your quick response.

Even the SAPSetFilterCompponent has the option to search bewteen text and key as in the Member Component.

However, the users want to have the option of direct Input in Filter. And this has to be unindependent from the display mode set. The question: is there any other way of achieving this? My first reflex would be through VBA (Visual Basic Applications)... but I have limited Knowledge on this.

I don't see a way to do that; can your users use the Filter by Member component from the Ribbon instead? At least you can see key and text (still need to determine which ones to search by)
