How to deploy par file to portal with NWDS?

i want to deploy a par file using NWDS using EP perspektive but

i don't know what to write to

alias:

host:

port:

login:

please help me with that and give detailed explanation. any helpful answers will be rewarded. thanks.

Hi,

alias: give your own say 'localportal'

http:// < host > : port.

host: is the name which appears after http:// and before port number.

port: is the one which comes after host name.

login: is the user name who has administration rights say administrator.

NWDS returned the error :

Operation failed : please make sure the ..... is running or check the log (sap-plugin.log) for more details.

I'm sure the server is running so where is the log file.

Either your login/password is wrong or the server is probably down or host name may be wrong.

Now if they are right, check if you can upload the same par through an administrator user.

Where did you put the password? I see the box for setting up the portal in NWDS that has fields for Alias, Host, Port, Login, and Description. I don't see a place to put password unless I put it in the same box as username. If that is the solution, what does the format of the two need to be?

G'day,

I am also having problems deploying a PAR via NWDS,and get the "Operation failed: make sure server is running" error.

I have the server running on the local host on port 50100, and I can access NWA, Visual Administrator, etc as "Administrator". I have configured a server via Windows | Preferences | SAP Enterprise Portal as host=localhost, port=50100, Login=Administrator, password=<admin password>. I have also set the proxy settings to local server via Windows | Preferences | SAP J2EE engine.

I have no problem deploying SDA libraries via NWDS, but I cannot deploy a PAR. The error message also mentions a sap-plugins.log file but I cannot find any such file on my system.

Note that I can deploy the PAR file via the portal itself. I log into the portal as "Administrator" and go to System Administration | Support | Portal Runtime | Administration Console and attempt to upload a PAR. I point to the PAR file created in NWDS and hit the "Upload" button, and it deploys successfully (although for some reason I was getting "Missing file submission" errors, but now I am not).

So why can't I deploy via NWDS?

Hi,

The issue may be due to the version of your java installed. Please check the java version if it is compatible or not with your NWDS
