Dynamic Tables - To group column values under different headings

Hi Gurus,

I have a requirement which goes like this.

I pull out records of say, <b>people</b> from the backend. The attributes in this record are Name and Occupation.

So, my context is

<b>People

- Name

- Occupation </b>

Now, I would like to group the Names as per the occupation. Like, if occupations are Teacher and Student,

I want something like the following in a single column.

<b>Teacher</b>

Name1

Name2

Name3

<b>Student</b>

Name4

Name5

i.e. All Names having Occupation as "Teacher" should come under a heading "Teacher" and all names having occupation as "Student" should come under "Student"

Is this possible using Tables? or should I go for some other UI element?

Please advise.

Thanks for your time.

Anjana R.

    Hi,

Yeah it should be possible if you are at least on NW 7.0 with Tables and TableColumnGroups. Please go through

    thishttp://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/81/f35f426fce3654e10000000a155106/frameset.htm">this> to know more.

By the way, I think you will need to generate the TableColumns dynamically based on the different occupations.

    Regards,

    Satyajit.
